|Wynford was built in 1935 and is located in a quiet, picturesque setting in nook lane, with stunning views overlooking the east side of Loughrigg and being at the base of walks to the Horseshoe and Fairfield.

The following statement is a summary of our provision.
An email or letter is always sent to guests after we have taken details of any bookings. It gives full details of the accommodation booked, payments made, cancellation policy and check in times. Also a contact number is taken.
We have a website which shows photographs of each of our three rooms. One is situated on the ground floor with the others being on the second floor.

Wynford operates a no smoking policy throughout the house.
|Arrival and car parking facilities.
Wynford is 15 minutes away by taxi from the train station at Windermere. There are taxis usually available at the train station rank. Bus arrivals drop off at the main drop off point in the centre of Ambleside and we are 15 minutes walk away. Again there are usually taxis at the main rank at the market cross next to the tourist information centre. We are located up a narrow lane off Smithy Brow on the Kirkstone road and is a 10 minute walk down a narrow lane into the centre of the town approx 900 metres.
Arrivals by car follow the directions given by us there is a private car park situated at the front of the house with parking for 3 cars.
Access to the house is via the main front door with a very slight gradient.
The driveway/car park is lit by 3 house lights and a security light. There are also solar lights which are situated on the patio next to the car park.
The front door is usually locked and there is a push door bell to the left hand side of the main entrance door.
Our check in times are from 1pm onwards but advanced indication of arrival time would be appreciated. We can accommodate early arrival with use of our private car park and safe storage of luggage - again, advanced warning would be appreciated.
Once registered you will be shown where the dining room, utility room and internet are situated, and given any information that you require. You will then be shown to your room and given your room key and a front door key to give you freedom to access as you wish. The main front door is locked during bad weather and from 5pm.
The front door is glass panelled and is 77cm wide. There is a slight step of 5cm on access to the front door with a second 5cm step into the vestibule with a 10cm drop. The entrance is into a tiled hallway containing seating and our private kitchen is to the left. The entrance hall is very bright and airy and is constantly lit during the evening. A second half glazed door, 74cm wide leads into the main hallway.
|Public Areas, General Internal
The hall is carpeted and contains a round table to the left and a desk to the centre. There is a bookcase containing reading literature, information on walks and places of interest in the local area. The computer access is situated in the main hallway to your right. The guests' dining room is to the left of the main downstairs hallway. The utility room is next to the dining room.
The staircase leading to the 1st floor is 76cm wide, has 13 steps and is carpeted and has one hand rail, the stair case is on a right hand angle formation, from the 4th step up. The first floor is 242cm wide and carpeted and a 96cm wide walkway leads to rooms 1 and 2.
2.98 meters length and 3 meters wide, and carpeted. The entrance doorway is 74cm wide and there are three two-seater tables with under space of 72cm. All chairs are without arms and can be moved. Breakfast is served in this dining room and any special dietary requirements can be catered for by prior arrangement.
The entrance to which is 74cm wide and the floor is tiled. It contains private cupboards and also a drying line for guests' use. An iron, ironing board, washing machine, tumble dryer are also available on request.
We have three en-suite rooms. One on the ground floor and the other two on the first floor, all are carpeted. All three rooms have a bath, shower over the bath, wc and wash basin. All rooms have kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, remote colour television, and radio clock alarms. A hairdryer, shoe polish, sewing kits, additional blanket, and flat sheet are also provided. Our beds are made up with synthetic duvets and synthetic or feather pillows. A guest information folder is placed in each room, this contains details of the residence and emergency contact numbers including doctors and hospitals in our area. Lighting in all rooms is good throughout. Every room is different and details of each are shown below.
|Room 3. Double
This room is situated on the ground floor next to the dining room. The entrance to this room is 72cm wide. There is a 136 cm double bed with metal head frame, height of 56cm with a 75 cm space either side. There is a thermostatically controlled radiator under the window. The room contains one armchair, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and two bedside cabinets. The bathroom door access is 72 cm wide that opens into the tiled bathroom. The bath is 165 cm long by 66 cm wide with a height of 54 cm and comes with handset shower.
|Room 2. Double
This room is situated on the first floor, the entrance to this room is 72cm wide. There is a 136 cm double bed which is 56 cm high and with a 56 cm space either side. The room has two thermostatically controlled radiators, one under the window and one in the bathroom, one wardrobe, a dressing table, two bedside cabinets, and a two-seater sofa. The bathroom is tiled and is accessed by a 66 cm wide door. The bath is 165 cm long by 66 cm wide with a height of 56 cm and has an overhead shower.
|Room 1. Super King/Twin
This room is also situated on the first floor, the entrance to this room is by a 72 cm door. It contains a "Zip-a-Link" bed consisting of two 92 cm single beds which convert into a 184 cm super king bed which is 66 cm high. This room has a dressing table, a wardrobe and two bedside tables, two easy chairs and a case stand. with two thermostatically controlled radiators - one in the bedroom under the window and one under the bathroom window. The bath is 165 cm long by 66 cm wide with a height of 56 cm and has an overhead shower.
There is a slate patio area situated to the front of the car park which is reached by four 18cm high steps. The patio contains a seating area and table for guests and an area of decking,. The decking area is on the left hand side of the patio and is reached by a 30cm high step. This area can be hazardous in winter months depending on the weather conditions.
